Margaret’s House is an elevated hospitality venue and events space in North Yorkshire, created around thoughtfully curated, design-led experiences. From intimate supper clubs and private dining to brand activations, podcasts and cultural gatherings, the ambition was to create a brand as considered and memorable as the experiences themselves.
At the heart of the identity is Marg - a person, rather than simply a name. The idea is that Margaret’s House is quite literally Marg’s house: a warm, welcoming place with a personality of its own, where people arrive with curious minds and an openness to new perspectives. It’s a place for meaningful conversations, unexpected connections and ideas gathered from different people, places and experiences. You never quite know what you might discover.
The project began by defining the brand strategy, personality, values and tone of voice, leading to the creative concept Elevated Confidence - a refined yet expressive identity shaped by experience, individuality and confident taste. The visual language balances sophistication with warmth, avoiding the formality often associated with luxury hospitality. Inspired by a well-travelled perspective and a curiosity for culture, hospitality and connection, the identity reflects the idea of collecting experiences, thoughts and perspectives from different places and bringing them together under one roof.
My role included developing the brand strategy and creative direction, logo and visual identity, illustration and patterns, typography, colour palette and brand guidelines, alongside applying the identity across key brand touch points.
The result is a confident, characterful identity for a destination with its own point of view - intelligent yet social, elevated yet approachable. A place worth going to; somewhere to gather, discover, exchange ideas and experience something different.
Project completed as a Freelance Designer.
